Founded in 2010, Wānaka FC is a thriving football club based in the Central Otago region of New Zealand. The club has over 550 members across Junior, Youth and Seniors. Our junior players participate in the Central Otago club season, our youth in the Southern Football Youth Development League, and our seniors play in the Southern League and Central Otago Football League.
We take pride in being a local community club for everyone, catering to all ages, stages and abilities from the age of 5+ years. Wānaka FC also offers a development pathway for aspirational young players through The Academy.
With 20 years playing, and 10 years coaching football, Thomas is a highly accomplished professional in the New Zealand football landscape.
After playing in the Netherlands and being coached by top-tier professionals, he was inspired to transition into coaching. He has since become a prominent figure in football development in New Zealand, having worked with organisations like the Southern United Academy, Olé Football Academy, and the Academy at Wānaka FC.
As a certified OFC/NZF B-Licence coach and an accredited Coach Educator, Thomas is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of players and coaches.
Josh is both the starting goalkeeper and goalkeeper coach for Wānaka FC, bringing valuable experience from his youth career in Auckland.
He is passionate about providing this opportunity to the next generation, enjoying nothing more than watching them apply what they learn in training to their game.
With multiple kids playing for the club, Fiona spent over 5 years volunteering, including as club secretary, prior to taking the role as Club Manager. She loves seeing young players get involved in football and pursue their dreams.
